Very dark gold almost amber color. Drank a small pour over 30 minutes. This was a lot of fun, in good shape and worrked quite well with the chess course – particularly the more creamy textured and fattier cheeses. The has a lighter weight to it, not as untuous or oily. I find a lot of botrytis spice character as opposed to some other notes. This has that spiced orange marmalade feel with dried apricot and a heavily liqueured spiced fruit cake, subltle honey and dried fruits. It is a bit more angular on the palate and the pairing elevates the wine. (cellartracker)
