Reseña profesional
The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Très Vieilles Vignes 2016 is displaying beautifully out of the bottle, with flavors of blackcurrants, cherries, spiced plums, and dark chocolate mingling with subtleties of peony, orange rind, and grilled meats in the glass. The wine is full-bodied, deep, and dense on the palate, with a complex and intensely concentrated core that mostly hides the wine’s rich structural tannins and a lengthy, resonant finish. The precision and definition of this Charmes put it a notch above the domaine’s 2015, yet tasting the two side by side would be fascinating.
