Porto Fundador is among the best-selling Port wine brands in Portugal. Launched in 1928, it became one of the most popular Port wines due to its quality as a 5-year-old tawny. Vinification of Porto Fundador: fermentation begins in self-fermenters with skin contact until fermentation is stopped by adding grape spirit. The candidates for the blend then mature in oak vats to preserve the fruity aromas and all the freshness of the wine.
