Varieties: Created by Nature, the CV Curriculum Vitae comes from a single old vineyard that is 100 years old, planted with 35 different varieties. With northern solar orientation, varieties such as Rufete, Tinta Amarela, Donzelinho Red, Tinta Francisca, Sousão, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional among others can be found here. Winemaking: CV – Curriculum Vitae Douro Red comes from a single vineyard in the valley of the Torto River. All grapes are hand-picked and selected before being destemmed and placed in the lagares. All grapes are foot-crushed 2-3 days before fermentation begins. The wine will ferment in lagares and foot treading will occasionally occur to extract tannins, color, and flavor from the wine in a balanced way. The wines are transferred to 75% new French oak barrels (225 liters) for malolactic fermentation and aging. This wine aged for 26 months in barrels. The final blend was made in January and the wine aged for an additional 2 months in stainless steel until the bottling date.
