Reseña profesional
En Virondotis a small Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru vineyard in Burgundy. A single white wine is sourced from the Chardonnay grown here.
The property is, in practical terms, a monopoly, as Domaine Marc Morey own 95 percent of the two hectares (5 acres) of vines. Furthermore they farm the remainder and buy the grapes, and have first refusal if the rows come up for sale.
Situated on the steeper mid-slopes of the Côte d’Or, above and to the south of Chassagne village, En Virondot is a small enclave of vines in the wooded area known as the Bois de la Comme.
It is slightly separated from the vines in the valley below (En Cailleret lies on the other side of an access track and some broken ground downslope to the east while, a little way to the south, Les Grandes Ruchottes lies beyond the scrubland that encircles En Virondot – and the La Grande Montagne sites – on th upper slopes).
