The 2005 Pera Manca is potentially an exciting wine. This cask sample was near bottling time when I saw it, so call this a preview review. It is beautifully structured and quite elegant, yet it fills your mouth and coats your palate. It is intense, yet well controlled, and beautifully balanced. It looks to be a big winner if it fulfills its potential. The price listed for the 2003 and 2005 is an estimate based on past performance. Given exchange rate issues, it may be considerably higher.
