1975 has traditionally been a fantastic vintage for Vega Sicilia, and this tasting verified that the 1975 Unico Reserva has the potential to be one of the historic winery’s best. A tight yet rich bouquet of black and red fruits, spices, and toasty wood follows the wine’s magnificent, saturated, thick ruby/purple color. This wine is deep, with a big body and a lot of flavor extraction, and it has a lot of power and richness, as well as a lot of structure and delineation. It appears to be the start of a renowned Vega Sicilia. Although it is excellent to drink now, it will not attain maturity for another 10-15 years; it will last for 30 years or longer.
