Located in the heart of the Cima-Corgo sub-region and washed along 1.5 kms by the waters of the left bank of the Douro river, Quinta das Tecedeiras owes its name to the nuns who lived there and dedicated themselves to weaving the flax that was once cultivated there. The soils are schist and the exposure is north and east, with the vineyards between 90m and 190m in altitude. The grapes ripen well and with great concentration of aromas and flavors without losing their freshness. When the vineyards were reconverted, care was taken to leave some old vineyard plots, whose grapes are carefully integrated into the blends of all the DOC red or Port wines of Tecedeiras.
