The medium-bodied, somewhat austere, noticeably oaky and tannic 1988 Forts de Latour possesses good aging potential, but lacks charm, complexity, and concentration. Nevertheless, it is an elegant, understated wine.
Lots of milk chocolate and berry character, with hints of dried flowers on the nose. Full-bodied, with very soft tannins and a lovely, fruity finish.
