In 1982, this was the second label of Chateau Sociando-Mallet. Bowl was pinkish in the center and progressed to a brick-orange rim. Nose was pleasant, red fruit, cocoa, oak and some forest floor. In the mouth, wine had no tannins, was very smooth, and with a good balance of dried dates and a little “unripe green” overlay. Very good with food. Obviously headed downhill but still alive and kicking. Quite surprised at how well it drank.
