Reseña profesional
Prior to our tasting in October, I had not crossed paths with a bottle of the ’83 La Lagune since the early years of the 1990s, and the wine has aged beautifully and is far more complete than I would have imagined- based on those early showings. The wine is now into its apogee of peak drinkability and delivers a superb, complex bouquet of black cherries, cassis, hints of black truffles, sweet cigar tones and a lovely base of dark soil. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and quite suave on the attack, with lovely mid-palate depth, melted tannins and excellent length and grip on the focused and à point finish. This is a really fine example of the 1983 vintage.
