Reseña profesional
The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Champs-Chenys Vieilles Vignes is showing very well, soaring from the glass with notes of ripe cherries, cassis and plums, framed by a deft touch of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and gourmand, it’s a concentrated and enveloping wine underpinned by succulent acids. As I wrote last year, this derives from old vines below Charmes-Chambertin, and the wine’s exuberant fruit lends it a close stylistic kinship with that grand cru.
