Reseña profesional
The history of Château de Latour and the Clos de Vougeot vineyard are inexorably linked. After the vineyard was wrested from the hands of the Cistercian monks who planted it was sold and resold a number of times until, in 1889, a consortium of six negociants bought the vineyard. However, one negociant, Masion Beaudet Freres, had bought heavily into a couple of vintages before this sale, bottling and stocking wine at the château to ensure its authenticity. So as not to lose their wine, Beaudet looked for the opportunity to buy part of the vineyard, and the managed to do so a few years later under the name Château de Latour. Today, Château de Latour is the largest owner in Clos de Vougeot with 10.9% of the vineyard.
