Reseña profesional
The 1998 Branaire Ducru is purple-ruby. On the nose, there are dark berries, licorice, violet, and a hint of chlorophyll. Has some substance, but in the middle comes across as fairly austere; the combination of chocolate and mint ingredients is rather discordant. Despite the high amount of merlot, this wine has a more abrasive style. Tannins are a little harsh and there’s a tiny dryness to the finish.
